Kirloskar Oil Engines reported an 18.1 percent year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit after tax to Rs 130.31 crore for Q2 FY27, down from Rs 159.19 crore in Q2 FY26.

Sequentially, consolidated net profit rose 17.3 percent from Rs 111.06 crore in Q1 FY27. The year-on-year drop in net profit was driven by accelerated input material costs and higher operating expenses, which grew at a faster pace than top-line revenue growth.

Consolidated revenue from operations for Q2 FY27 reached Rs 2,284.04 crore, representing a 17.1 percent increase year-on-year from Rs 1,950.63 crore in Q2 FY26 and a 14.5 percent sequential rise over Rs 1,995.71 crore in Q1 FY27.

Total consolidated expenses expanded 21.3 percent year-on-year to Rs 2,119.30 crore compared to Rs 1,746.56 crore in the year-ago period, driven by a cost of raw materials and components consumed of Rs 1,069.67 crore. Sequentially, total expenses increased 13.7 percent from Rs 1,863.59 crore in the preceding quarter.

On a standalone basis, the engine manufacturer posted revenue from operations of Rs 1,738.95 crore and a net profit after tax from continuing operations of Rs 115.17 crore for Q2 FY27, compared to Rs 1,459.50 crore and Rs 133.50 crore respectively in Q2 FY26. Standalone total expenses stood at Rs 1,594.21 crore compared to Rs 1,293.10 crore in the prior-year period.

Segmentally, B2B engine and genset operations delivered consolidated revenue of Rs 1,745.28 crore, while the B2C segment contributed Rs 330.18 crore.
