Kinetic announced on Tuesday that it has updated its DX+ electric scooter with a larger 3.1 kWh battery, priced from Rs 1,27,650 (ex-showroom), while the entry-level DX moves up from the original 2.6 kWh pack to a 3.0 kWh battery (priced at Rs 1,18,599).
The new 3.1 kWh battery is made of lithium iron phosphate (LFP), with Kinetic claiming an IDC-certified range of up to 132 km. This translates to an estimated real-world operating range of 105 to 110 km on a single charge. The battery is paired with a hub-mounted BLDC motor with a peak output of 3.8 kW. The powertrain has two riding modes, Range and Power, with a claimed charging time from 0 to 80% achieved in approximately three hours.
The DX+ variant is available in five exterior colours—Black, Silver, Blue, White, and Red—while the base DX 3 kWh comes in Black and Silver.
Commenting on the launch, Ajinkya Firodia, Managing Director and Vice Chairman, Kinetic EV, said, "The upgraded DX+ brings together the strengths of our iconic design with modern electric technology and thoughtful features, making the transition to electric mobility even more practical and appealing for Indian customers."
The DX+'s existing mechanical specifications remain the same. Chassis and dimensions feature a 1,315 mm wheelbase, 165 mm of ground clearance, a 714 mm seat length, and 37 litres of under-seat storage capacity. Rolling hardware comprises 12-inch wheels fitted with 100/80 tubeless tyres at both ends, anchored by a 220 mm front disc brake and a 130 mm rear drum brake.
To support customer uptake during the festive season, the manufacturer has introduced retail promotions, including a direct cash benefit of Rs 2,000 on the DX 3 kWh and Rs 3,000 on the DX+, alongside an extended warranty valued at Rs 8,999 on the DX+, a Rs 5,000 Amazon cashback, and a Rs 5,000 PM E-Drive scheme benefit.
