Kia launches new SUV Syros in India, starting at ₹8.99 lakh

Kia India introduced its latest SUV, the Syros, in New Delhi today, positioning it between the mid and compact SUV segments. The vehicle, launched at a starting price of ₹8.99 lakh, features over-the-air software updates and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The Syros comes with two engine options: a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine producing 120PS and a 1.5-liter diesel engine delivering 116PS. Both engines are available with manual and automatic transmission choices. The company offers the vehicle in four trim levels - HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+ - across eight color options.

The new model incorporates Kia Connect 2.0 system with 80+ connected features and remote diagnostic capabilities. Notable features include a 76.2cm Trinity Panoramic Display, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and ventilated seats. The safety package includes smart cruise control, front collision warning, and a 360-degree camera system.

Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, said the launch aligns with increasing SUV demand among tech-savvy Indian drivers. The company has also introduced ownership programs including maintenance packages, extended warranty options, and a scratch care program.

The SUV market in India has seen significant growth in recent years, with manufacturers expanding their portfolios to meet diverse consumer preferences. Kia entered the Indian market in 2019 with the Seltos SUV and has since established itself as a significant player in the premium segment.

Bookings for the Syros are now open at Kia dealerships and through the company's website with a minimum booking amount of ₹25,000. The ADAS features are available at an additional cost of ₹80,000 on the top trim. The diesel automatic top variant is priced at ₹16.99 lakh.
