Kia has revealed the India-spec Sorento ahead of its launch on September 4, 2026. The three-row SUV will become the brand's new flagship internal-combustion-engined model in India and will be offered with both diesel and strong-hybrid powertrains.

Kia has also confirmed that the hybrid version will be available with all-wheel drive, giving the Sorento a distinctive positioning in its segment. The India-spec model will additionally feature Kia's AI assistant, marking the first global application of the technology in a Sorento.

Production of the India-spec Sorento has commenced at Kia's Anantapur manufacturing facility. The SUV is expected to benefit from a high level of local content, allowing Kia to position it competitively in India's three-row SUV segment.

The Sorento's introduction will expand Kia's India portfolio above the Seltos and Carens, while strengthening its presence in the premium SUV space. The company is expected to price the model in the Rs 30-35 lakh range, ex-showroom.

The combination of local production, multiple powertrain options and available AWD on the hybrid is expected to be central to the Sorento's positioning when Kia announces its full specifications and pricing at the September 4 launch.
