Kia India has announced its latest addition to the premium SUV segment by announcing SYROS, its upcoming offering for the Indian market. This new vehicle marks a significant milestone as the company's first Kia 2.0 SUV offering following the successful launches of the Carnival and EV9.
The SYROS is positioned to blend traditional design elements with modern innovation, featuring what the company describes as "new age stunning bold design, advanced technology, and mythological heritage." The vehicle is specifically engineered to cater to the evolving preferences of modern, tech-savvy consumers in the Indian market.
According to Kia's announcement, the SYROS will offer an ultra-spacious cabin equipped with industry-first connected features. The SUV promises to combine practical utility with progressive styling that challenges conventional design norms in its segment. The launch of SYROS comes at a time when Kia India has established a strong presence in the Indian automotive sector. Since beginning mass production at its Anantapur facility in August 2019, the company has achieved remarkable milestones, including the dispatch of nearly 1.5 million vehicles, comprising over 1.05 million domestic sales and 250,000 exports.
Kia India's journey began in April 2017 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh government. The company has since expanded its portfolio to include successful models such as the Seltos, Carnival, Sonet, Carens, and EV6. With an installed annual production capacity of 300,000 units, Kia has also established itself as a leader in connected car technology, with more than 400,000 connected vehicles currently on Indian roads.
