Kia India Partners with BPCL to Expand EV Charging Network to 15,000+ Points
The automaker's K-Charge platform will integrate over 3,000 BPCL charging stations, providing enhanced access to public charging infrastructure across highways and urban centers as the company strengthens its electric vehicle portfolio.
Kia India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited to expand its public electric vehicle charging network to over 15,000 touchpoints nationwide.
The partnership, formalized during India Energy Week 2026 in Goa, will add more than 3,000 BPCL charging points to Kia's K-Charge ecosystem. The expanded network aims to address range anxiety, identified as a key barrier to electric vehicle adoption in India.
"Convenience and confidence are critical to EV adoption," said Atul Sood, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Kia India. "Through this partnership with BPCL, we are making EV ownership more practical and stress-free for our customers by expanding charging access at scale."
The K-Charge platform, accessible through the MyKia App and Kia India website, allows customers to locate charging stations, navigate to them, and process payments through a unified digital interface. The network expansion is designed to support travel across urban centers, highways, and inter-city routes.
The infrastructure development coincides with Kia India's growing electric vehicle lineup. The company recently launched the Carens Clavis EV, its first made-in-India electric vehicle, featuring a 7-seater configuration. Kia's premium global models, the EV6 and flagship EV9, are also available in the Indian market.
Kia India operates a manufacturing facility in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, with an installed annual production capacity of 300,000 units. The company has completed approximately 1.5 million vehicle dispatches from the plant, including over 1.3 million domestic sales and more than 367,000 exports.
The automaker maintains a network of 841 touchpoints across 376 cities in India and has over 500,000 connected cars on Indian roads.
The expansion of charging infrastructure is part of Kia India's strategy to support the adoption of electric mobility in the country as the automotive sector transitions toward sustainable transportation solutions.
