Kia India has announced an expanded lineup for the Model Year 2026 (MY26) Carens Clavis EV, adding new GT-Line and X-Line trims to the Extended Range variant while also introducing a six-seater configuration with second-row captain seats. The updates come as the company looks to address evolving customer expectations around comfort, seating flexibility, and design differentiation.

The MY26 Carens Clavis EV now spans a broader range of trims across both Standard Range (42 kWh) and Extended Range (51.4 kWh) battery options. The Standard Range variant carries an ARAI-certified range of 404 km, while the Extended Range is rated at 490 km — both figures based on the MIDC Full test cycle.

New Trims: GT-Line and X-Line

Two new trims have been added exclusively to the Extended Range variant. The GT-Line, available in GTX and GTX+ grades, introduces a sportier visual character through revised alloy wheel designs, lime-coloured brake calipers, and metal pedals. The X-Line takes a contrasting approach with a darker, more rugged aesthetic, including an exclusive Dark Gun Metal exterior colour alongside Aurora Black Pearl.

Both the GTX+ and X-Line variants gain next-generation technology features including Digital Key and battery heater technology. Standard Range trims across the board receive newly designed R16 Black High Gloss Aero alloy wheels.

Six-Seater Configuration

A six-seater layout with second-row captain seats is now available across select trims — HTX (E), HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+ and X-Line — in both Standard and Extended Range options. Kia India has described the addition as a response to customer feedback seeking enhanced personal space and a more premium in-cabin experience. The existing seven-seater configuration continues to be offered on GTX, GTX+, and X-Line trims.

Powertrain and Features

The Carens Clavis EV is powered by electric motors rated at 99 kW and 126 kW, delivering 255 Nm of torque. Fast charging capability allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 39 minutes.

Safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), among 18 advanced safety features. The cabin features a 26.62-inch dual panoramic display, over 85 connected car features, and a Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof available on select trims.

Kia India's K-Charge platform, accessible through the MyKia app, provides access to more than 15,000 charging points across the country. Over 100 Kia dealerships are equipped with DC fast chargers, backed by more than 267 EV-ready workshops nationwide.

Pricing

The MY26 Carens Clavis EV is priced from ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Standard Range HTK+ seven-seater, up to ₹24.99 lakh for the Extended Range GTX+ and X-Line variants in both six- and seven-seater configurations. Seven exterior colour options are available, including the newly introduced Dark Gun Metal exclusive to the X-Line.
