Kia Carnival Limousine crosses 400 deliveries in two months
The luxury recreational vehicle garners 3,350 bookings with a six-month waiting period, highlighting its popularity. Kia plans to unveil the Kia Syros on December 19, further expanding its premium offerings in India.
Kia India has announced the delivery of 400 units of its newly launched Carnival Limousine within two months of commencing deliveries. The luxury recreational vehicle, priced at Rs 63.9 lakhs and available in a single trim, has also recorded 3,350 bookings, resulting in a waiting period of over six months. The demand for both available color options has remained consistent.
The Carnival Limousine builds on the legacy of its predecessor, the Kia Carnival, while offering enhanced features aimed at redefining passenger comfort. A key highlight is the second-row powered relaxation seats, which provide ventilation, heating, and leg support to ensure a comfortable experience for passengers.
Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, said, "We are pleased to achieve the milestone of delivering 400 Kia Carnival Limousines within two months. This reflects the trust our customers place in the Kia brand. The Carnival Limousine, with its blend of luxury, advanced technology, and premium features, has been well-received by our customers."
Kia India also announced plans to unveil its upcoming model, the Kia Syros, on 19 December, signaling its continued efforts to expand its portfolio in the Indian market.
As the all-new Carnival has been brought to India as a CBU import, its asking price is significantly higher than that of its now-discontinued predecessor. However, Kia plans to locally assemble the MPV at a later date, which should bring its price down substantially. At that point, the Carnival may be seen as a slightly more expensive alternative to the top-spec Toyota Innova Hycross, currently priced at Rs 30.98 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
It gets a boxier and sharper design compared to its predecessor and features Kia’s ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, flanked by vertically stacked LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, as well as 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The L-motif continues at the rear, with the tail-lights being connected by an LED light bar.
The Carnival for India gets two exterior colour options – Glacier White Pearl and Fusion Black – and two dual-tone theme interior options – Navy and Misty Gray, and Tuscan and Umber. The cabin gets a 2+2+3 seating layout, with second-row captain seats with heating and ventilation, along with adjustable leg support.
The Carnival is available in a single, fully-loaded variant that gets dual 12.3-inch curved displays, a 4-spoke steering wheel, dual electric sunroofs, three-zone climate control, a 11-inch head-up display, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a 12-way powered driver’s seat and wireless charging pads. The HVAC controls are a mix of haptic touch surfaces and physical dials. The real talking point, however, has to be the powered second-row captain chairs with heating, ventilation and extendable leg support. It also comes with a powered tailgate and powered sliding rear doors.
Safety features include 8 airbags, rear disc brakes, ESC, Hill Assist Control, a tyre pressure monitor, front, rear and side parking sensors, 360-degree camera and an ADAS Level 2 suite. The ADAS features include Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, High Beam Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more.
Like its predecessor, the new Carnival gets a sole 2.2-litre diesel engine. In this model, the unit makes 193hp and 441Nm of peak torque and comes paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels.
Kia is also offering three years of free mainenance, warranty and road side assistance with the new Carnival. Kia says it has already amassed 2,796 bookings for the all-new MPV.
