Kalyani Group Unveils MArG 45 System at IDEX 2025
With a 4x4 all-terrain platform and over 36km range, the company aims to combine advanced firepower with versatile mobility.
Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited, a defense subsidiary of Bharat Forge, unveiled its innovative MArG 45 mobile gun system at IDEX Abu Dhabi. The launch ceremony was presided over by H.E. Shri Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE.
The International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) is an important event in the global defense industry, featuring the latest military technologies. IDEX is held biennially in Abu Dhabi, attracting defense industry leaders, experts, and professionals from around the world. The event provides a platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and fostering international collaboration in the defense sector.
The MArG 45, mounted on a 4x4 all-terrain platform, combines mobility with firepower, achieving a range of over 36 kilometers with conventional ammunition. The system weighs 23.5 tons, carries 18 rounds with Zone 6 onboard for continuous operations.
The MArG 45 displays adaptability on the battlefield with an elevation range of -2° to +72° and a traverse of 25° in both directions. It achieves deployment readiness in 1.5 minutes during the day and 2 minutes at night.
Baba Kalyani, Chairman & MD, Bharat Forge Ltd., stated: 'This Mounted Gun Platform showcases our advancement in defense technology and our ability to develop advanced artillery defense platforms designed and made in India.
The system can fire 10 rounds in 3 minutes and sustain 42 rounds over 60 minutes. It is compatible with NATO-standard and in-service ammunition, and features a chassis designed in-house for maneuverability across various combat environments.
