Jupiter Electric Mobility and Porter join hands to advance sustainable logistics
The partnership focuses on empowering drivers and small businesses through the JEM Udaan program, promoting electric mobility adoption, business growth, and a greener logistics ecosystem across Porter's extensive network in 22 cities.
Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Limited, has entered into a partnership with Porter, a leading goods transport agency, to promote sustainable electric mobility and support entrepreneurial opportunities for drivers. The collaboration centers on JEM's initiative, the JEM Udaan program, which aims to assist drivers and small business owners in adopting electric vehicles for commercial use.
As part of the agreement, Porter will facilitate the onboarding of drivers and small business operators who choose JEM Tez, JEM’s electric light commercial vehicle, as their platform for sustainable logistics. Porter will also provide guidance and resources to help these entrepreneurs grow their businesses, optimize revenue opportunities, and contribute to a more sustainable logistics ecosystem.
Speaking on the partnership, Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Group, said, "The collaboration with Porter reflects our commitment to advancing sustainable business practices in logistics. Through the JEM Udaan program, we aim to empower drivers to build their entrepreneurial ventures while adopting environmentally friendly solutions."
Tanuj Khandelwal, Vice President of Porter, highlighted the initiative’s significance, stating, "The JEM Udaan program represents a meaningful step toward fostering green logistics. By working with Jupiter Electric Mobility, we aim to empower individuals with the tools and skills needed to improve their livelihoods while supporting sustainable practices."
The JEM Udaan program offers drivers and small entrepreneurs business support, professional training, and access to essential electric vehicle resources through JEM’s dealership network. The initiative seeks to connect local operators and businesses with sustainable logistics solutions, promoting the adoption of electric mobility and encouraging economic growth in communities.
Porter, which has a network of over 7.5 lakh drivers across 22 cities, is focused on providing scalable and reliable logistics solutions. The partnership with JEM aligns with Porter's efforts to enhance driver livelihoods and support the transition to green mobility.
