JSW MG Motor India, the newly established automotive arm of the JSW Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with KPIT Technologies to develop a robust software and digital infrastructure for its upcoming portfolio of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs).

The collaboration aims to leverage KPIT Technologies’ expertise in automotive software and systems development, built over two decades and spanning more than 2,000 global vehicle production programs, including several Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) initiatives. The partnership is expected to support JSW MG Motor India’ ambitions to introduce technologically advanced electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the Indian market.

JSW MG Motor India plans to invest US$3 billion over the next five years in the development and manufacturing of new energy vehicles. The company is currently developing a 630-acre automotive hub in Bidkin, Maharashtra, and expects its first NEV to be launched in the second half of FY2026.

As part of the collaboration, KPIT will contribute its capabilities in electric propulsion systems, battery technology, and SDV architectures, which enable over-the-air updates and enhanced user experiences. The company will also establish a dedicated Center of Excellence to support JSW MG Motor India’ engineering and innovation goals.

Kishor Patil, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of KPIT Technologies, stated that the partnership aligns with the company’s strategic focus on supporting the Indian automotive sector’s transition toward clean mobility. He emphasized KPIT’s experience in next-generation vehicle technologies and its commitment to delivering scalable, future-ready solutions.

Ranjan Nayak, Chief Executive Officer of JSW MG Motor India, highlighted the importance of global technological integration in building competitive, high-performance vehicles in India. He noted that KPIT’s technical expertise would play a key role in shaping the digital backbone of JSW’s future vehicle lineup.

KPIT Technologies, a global provider of software solutions for the automotive industry, operates engineering centers across India, the United States, Europe, Japan, China, and Thailand. With over 12,000 professionals specializing in embedded software, artificial intelligence, and digital solutions, the company supports automotive OEMs and suppliers in advancing clean, smart, and safe mobility.

JSW MG Motor India is part of the US $23 billion JSW Group, a diversified industrial conglomerate with interests in steel, energy, infrastructure, cement, paints, defense, and renewable energy.
