JSW MG Motor India sells 7,516 units in December 2024, EVs lead the charge
With EVs contributing to 70% of its total monthly volumes, the company registered its best-ever monthly EV sales in the last month of CY24, and is confident of strengthening its position in India's passenger electric vehicle market going forward.
JSW MG Motor India, which clocked overall retail sales of 7,516 units last month, recorded its best-ever December volumes with a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 55%. Leading the charge for the company's robust performance in the domestic market, is its pack of electric vehicles, led by the MG Windsor mid-size crossover.
Launched in India in September 2024, the MG Windsor emerged as the highest-selling passenger EV in the country in the third consecutive month, and registered total sales of 3,785 units in December 2024. Alongside the Windsor, the MG Comet and MG ZS EV cumulatively accounted for over 70% of the company's total monthly volumes, thus, enabling it to register its best-ever EV sales last month.
According to JSW MG Motor India, the company is reaffirming its leadership position in India's passenger EV segment, wherein its New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) contributed to over 70% of its total monthly sales in December 2024. The company believes that its innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing option, as well as customer-centric mobility solutions continue to shape the future of India's automotive landscape. "Going forward, we will maintain our growth momentum while driving continuous disruption and innovation. We are committed to introducing new products every six months, alongside delivering exceptional customer service," the company said in a statement.
JSW MG Motor India plans to build on this momentum into 2025 with a slew of innovations and products lined up for the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January.
