JLR India reported a 36% year-over-year growth in retail sales for the first half of fiscal year 2025 (H1 FY25), selling 3,214 units. This marks their best-ever half-yearly performance. The sales increase was further supported by a strong 41% growth in the second quarter of FY25, following a 31% rise in the first quarter.

The growth was primarily driven by improved supply and sustained demand for the Range Rover and Defender models, particularly aided by the local production of the entire Range Rover portfolio. Additionally, JLR India’s order book experienced a 15% growth in the first half of FY25 compared to the same period last year.

According to Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, the local manufacturing of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport has contributed to a 60% increase in orders. The Defender model saw a 75% sales growth in H1 FY25, highlighting its growing popularity.

Amba also mentioned the launch of the Ranthambore Edition, a limited Bespoke SV model, with all 12 units being pre-booked. As JLR India enters the festive season, the company expects to maintain this growth trajectory through the second half of the year, supported by a strong product lineup and a customer-focused approach.
