JK Fenner Partners with Korean Firm NMC Motors for E-Axle Manufacturing
Under the agreement, JK Fenner will receive technical assistance from NMC Motors Korea for product development and manufacturing processes.
JK Fenner India Ltd has entered into a technology alliance with Korean electric vehicle motor manufacturer NMC Motors to develop e-axle manufacturing capabilities. The technical collaboration agreement was signed at an event in Chennai on Wednesday.
The Chennai-based company, which specializes in power transmission systems, fluid transfer systems, and sealing systems, plans to establish a manufacturing facility for e-axles targeting three-wheelers and small commercial vehicles. The partnership may expand to include four-wheelers in the future.
Under the agreement, JK Fenner will receive technical assistance from NMC Motors Korea for product development and manufacturing processes. The collaboration will enable technology transfer for e-axle production from the Korean partner.
Company executives stated that JK Fenner already has a presence in the electric vehicle industry through transmission and sealing systems. The new partnership is expected to strengthen the company's position in India's EV market and expand its global presence in the electric vehicle sector.
A company spokesperson expressed optimism about the growth of electric vehicles in India and indicated the firm's intention to become a significant player in the country's EV transformation.
