Jio-bp unveiled its Split Fuel Car at Mumbai's Jio World Centre on March 11, 2025, allowing customers to directly observe how the company's high-performance fuels affect engine performance.
The demonstration vehicle featured two separate fuel tanks powering different halves of a 6-cylinder engine. One tank contained Jio-bp's ACTIVE Technology fuel while the other used standard petrol, enabling immediate comparison of their effects on engine components.
Using borescope imaging technology, viewers can see deposit buildup on engine parts, with the side running on standard fuel showing greater accumulation that could reduce efficiency over time.
According to company data, diesel with ACTIVE technology provides up to 4.3% better mileage, while their enhanced petrol keeps critical engine components "up to 10 times cleaner." Jio-bp offers these premium fuels at the same price as standard options across its network of over 1,875 mobility stations.
Following the Mumbai event, the company plans to take the Split Fuel Car on a multi-city tour to demonstrate the technology to consumers across India.
Jio-bp is a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and bp, combining Reliance's market presence with bp's global fuel expertise. The company also provides EV charging infrastructure and doorstep diesel delivery through its Fuel4U service.
