Jeep Compass Track Edition launched at Rs 26.78 lakh
In a bid to push sales during Diwali, Jeep has introduced Compass Track Edition with cosmetic upgrades.
Jeep India has introduced a new special-edition variant of the Compass SUV, called the Track Edition, with prices starting at Rs 26.78 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the range-topping Compass Model S, the Compass Track Edition adds a handful of cosmetic enhancements inside and out. The special edition Jeep Compass is priced at a premium of Rs 30,000–33,000 over the equivalent Model S variants. Bookings are now open, and deliveries have already begun across dealerships.
Jeep Compass Track Edition: What’s new?
Visual updates on the Compass Track Edition are subtle but distinctive. It gets a new hood decal, Track Edition badges, and new 18-inch tech grey alloy wheels with contrasting beige highlights. Inside, the SUV gains a fresh look with Tupelo leatherette upholstery, smoke-chrome dashboard accents, and contrasting beige stitching. The cabin also features Tupelo vinyl trims with embossed Jeep branding and special Track Edition floor mats.
Despite the cosmetic changes, the feature list remains identical to the Compass Model S.This means it continues to come equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, powered and ventilated front seats, an Alpine sound system, and a panoramic sunroof.
Jeep Compass Track Edition: Powertrain options
Mechanically, the Compass Track Edition remains unchanged. It’s powered by the familiar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing 170hp and 350Nm of torque. The engine is available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 9-speed automatic transmission, with the automatic version also offering a 4x4 drivetrain option.
Compass special editions aimed at pushing sales
The Track Edition joins Jeep’s growing list of limited-run Compass variants, following the Sandstorm Edition introduced in March and the Trail Edition launched in July this year. The Compass has been on sale since July 2017 and the SUV looks dated in front of its rivals. An all-new Compass has been revealed abroad but that wont come to India. Sales of the current-gen Compass have been dismal in India with the month of January 2025 clocking a mere 173 units which is the highest number of Jeep Compass units sold in a month in 2025 so far. With the help of these special editions, Jeep India is looking to push for more sales and keep the product relevant until there is some clarity on the SUVs and its brand’s future in India.
