JBM Electric Vehicles debuted its ECOLIFE all-electric city bus at the UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg, initiating its entry into the European market with a new headquarters in Frankfurt and a German leasing partnership.
JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), a subsidiary of the $3 billion Indian conglomerate JBM Group, has officially entered the European market with the launch of its ECOLIFE electric city bus at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2025 in Hamburg. The unveiling was led by Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of the JBM Group.
The ECOLIFE electric bus offers a driving range of up to 400 kilometres on a single charge and supports ultra-fast charging. It features a lightweight stainless steel body, modular battery packs, and a permanent magnet synchronous motor designed for urban public transport. Additional features include a regenerative braking system, advanced telematics, and interiors made from recycled materials.
JBM EV has established its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. This hub will manage regional operations including sales, marketing, aftersales services, and strategic partnerships. Leading these efforts is Daniel Frade, Director – Sales, Marketing & Aftersales – Europe.
As part of its market entry strategy, JBM EV has partnered with German leasing firm KazenMaier to facilitate the deployment of more than 100 electric buses in Germany. The collaboration is aimed at supporting sustainable public transport solutions through integrated offerings that include vehicles, charging infrastructure, and financing.
The ECOLIFE bus incorporates a range of safety systems such as Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), collision and lane departure warnings, blind spot detection, fire detection and suppression systems, and intelligent speed assistance, among others.
At the UITP Summit, JBM also showcased its E-Verse ecosystem, which includes in-house solutions for fast charging, battery technology, and service networks. The company reports experience with over 11,000 electric buses deployed or under execution globally and operates one of the world’s largest dedicated electric bus manufacturing facilities outside China, located in India.
JBM EV has covered more than 165 million electric kilometres to date, serving over 1 billion passengers, and aims to reach 3 billion kilometres and 10 billion passengers in the next few years. The company's initiatives are aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals focused on health, climate action, and urban infrastructure.
