iVOOMi Energy collaborates with Mechanic Association to expand after-sales service network

iVOOMi Energy has partnered with the Mechanic (Repairing Shops) Association, an automobile training organisation, to empower garage owners across Maharashtra.

This partnership aims to upskill over 2500 garage owners within the next six months, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge for repairing and maintaining electric vehicle (EV) scooters. Upon completion of the training, these garages will be certified by iVOOMi Energy, which will also provide engineering, technical, and spare parts support to ensure trusted post-sales service for iVOOMi consumers.

Currently, 17 garage owners in Pune, Maharashtra, have already commenced training under this program, with many more set to follow. The comprehensive training program covers various aspects of the EV business, including:

  • Fundamentals of Electric Vehicles
  • The Future Need of Electric Vehicles
  • Different EV Parts
  • Battery Technology and Maintenance
  • Troubleshooting Techniques
  • Scheduled Maintenance Procedures
  • EV Sales, Service, and Spare Parts Business

Commenting on the partnership, Ashwin Bhandari, Co-Founder and CEO, of iVOOMi Energy said, "EV two-wheelers are leading the e-mobility adoption charter in India, as well as around the world. However, the shortage of quality after-sales service touchpoints has been a hindrance. A strong after-sales service network builds trust among existing and potential consumers. It will also help India transition to green mobility. By collaborating with the association, we are not just expanding our after-sales support system but also investing to build the future of e-mobility in India.”

Santosh Pawar, Vice President of the association echoed similar sentiments while highlighting the importance of such initiatives, “This partnership will upskill thousands of garage owners and mechanics with the knowledge and skills to cater to the growing demand for EV maintenance services. Going forward, these garage owners and mechanics will not only be able to earn a higher livelihood but also contribute to the acceleration of a greener future. We are hopeful that the success of this program will inspire the other OEMs to play their part in bringing up the EV maintenance and repair ecosystem in India.”

In addition to training, participating garage owners are incentivised with referral bonuses for encouraging other garages to join the program, thereby fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. This partnership aims to create a strong network of EV garage owners, ensuring world-class after-sales services and propelling EV adoption in India.
