Inteva Products expands Pune manufacturing facility to meet growing demand
Inteva Products invests Rs 27.41 crore in expanding its Pune plant, increasing production capacity, strengthening supply chain capabilities.
Inteva Products LLC, a global supplier of automotive systems and components, has announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. The $3.3 million investment aims to enhance production capacity and operational efficiency to meet the increasing demand in India’s automotive sector.
The expansion will increase the plant's production space by 70%, bringing it to a total of 85,000 square feet. Additionally, the facility will include 26,000 square feet of new office space. The expansion will allow Inteva to install new production lines for window regulators, latches, and window regulator motor assemblies, improving supply chain capabilities and supporting the company's existing customer base in India.
The expansion is also expected to create 100 new jobs in Pune, contributing to the local workforce and the economic development of Maharashtra. Inteva’s focus on utilising local talent aligns with India’s efforts to strengthen its automotive manufacturing sector.
“This expansion reflects Inteva’s ongoing commitment to the Indian market, which is important to our global growth strategy,” said Gerard Roose, President and CEO of Inteva Products. “As demand for high-quality automotive components rises, we are increasing our capacity to better serve our customers and create local job opportunities.”
Inteva’s Pune facility produces key components such as side door latches, liftgate latches, window regulators, and motors for window regulators, serving Indian automakers like Mahindra & Mahindra, TATA Motors, Stellantis, Volkswagen (VW), Hyundai, MG Motors, and Force Motors. The facility also supplies window regulator motors to international markets, including South Africa and North America.
Sanjay Kataria, Vice President and Managing Director of Inteva India, noted, “This expansion will allow us to provide more localised, high-quality automotive components that meet the needs of our customers. Our investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities in Pune highlights our focus on quality and innovation.”
Inteva first established operations in Pune in 2008 and moved to its Chakan plant in 2012. Since then, the company has built a reputation for providing high-tech automotive solutions with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, and sustainability. Inteva also operates a technical center in Bengaluru, employing approximately 320 staff, including 181 engineers, which supports both global and local operations with product development and engineering expertise.
As the Indian automotive market continues to expand, Inteva is well-positioned to meet the demand for high-quality automotive components for both domestic and international customers. This investment is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its manufacturing presence in emerging markets, contributing to global supply chains and local economies.
