Infineon Technologies AG has entered into a technology agreement with Qualcomm Technologies to develop a microcontroller-based design pattern for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride reference platforms.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the deployment of centralized car computers in software-defined vehicles (SDVs) by pairing Qualcomm’s high-performance systems-on-chip with Infineon’s hardware and software for safety management, connectivity, and memory management.
The complementary subsystem operates alongside the Snapdragon Ride and Ride Flex reference platforms, coordinating AI and high-performance computing capabilities with vehicle behavior by monitoring system health, coordinating safety mechanisms, and facilitating real-time control of safety-critical functions.
The hardware architecture is built around an Infineon AURIX microcontroller, with power management provided by Infineon OPTIREG ICs. Additionally, Infineon is supplying a dedicated software package pre-integrating microcontroller firmware with specific monitoring software tailored to Qualcomm's platform requirements, alongside BRIGHTLANE Automotive Ethernet, USB connectivity solutions, and SEMPER NOR Flash memory.
Infineon said it will showcase the joint integration at the electronica trade fair in Munich, Germany, taking place from November 10 to November 13, 2026.
