Indian motorcycle racers Kavin Quintal and Johann Reeves competed in Round 3 of the 2025 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship at Mobility Resort Motegi in Japan on July 14, with mixed results across two races in the Asia Production 250cc class.
Quintal started Race 1 from 24th position and finished 15th out of the field, completing the 10-lap race in 21 minutes and 50.422 seconds to earn one championship point. However, his Race 2 ended prematurely due to a crash after five laps, resulting in a 31st-place finish with a time of 10:59.119.
Johann Reeves began Race 1 from 28th position and finished 24th with a time of 22:19.879. In Race 2, he completed the full distance to finish 25th in 22:12.781.
The single point earned by Quintal brings the IDEMITSU Honda Racing India team's total to six points for the 2025 season in the AP250 class.
"Racing at Motegi Circuit today was demanding throughout," Quintal said after the races. "It was a tough day as unfortunately I couldn't finish the race due to a crash. While the result isn't what I hoped for, I am taking away valuable insights from today and staying motivated to improve in the upcoming rounds."
Reeves described the weekend as a learning experience. "Today's race at Motegi Circuit tested me in every aspect. It was a challenging battle from the very beginning. With tough competition and a challenging track, I have gained valuable experience for the team and there is much to improve on."
The FIM Asia Road Racing Championship is Asia's premier motorcycle road racing series, running since 1996. The 2025 season consists of six rounds, with the opening round held at Chang International Circuit in Thailand from April 25-27, followed by the second round in Malaysia from May 30 to June 1.
The championship continues with Round 4 scheduled for Indonesia in August, followed by Round 5 in Malaysia in October. The season finale will return to Chang International Circuit in Thailand in December.
The Asia Production 250cc class represents one of the most competitive categories in the championship, featuring riders from across the Asia-Pacific region competing on production-based motorcycles.
