INDEX Group Opens Bangalore Technology Center to Expand India Market Presence

The German CNC machine manufacturer has established a new branch with a showroom and demonstration facility near Bangalore Airport, targeting India's industrial sector.

INDEX Group, the Germany-based manufacturer of CNC turning machines under the INDEX and TRAUB brands, has opened a new branch and Technology Center in the Hi-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park in Bangalore. The facility, located approximately 15 minutes from Bangalore Airport, includes office space for sales, technology, application support, customer service, and administration, along with a showroom equipped with demonstration machines.

The center is designed to host customer events, test machining sessions, and product presentations. It will be led by Wilson Thomas, Managing Director of INDEX Machine Tools India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary established in 2023.

INDEX Group has maintained a sales and service presence in India for over 25 years. The new facility represents an expansion of that footprint, intended to provide faster service response times and closer engagement with customers in the Indian market.

The company's product range includes multi-spindle automatic lathes, universal turning machines, sliding-headstock automatic lathes, turn-mill centers, and production turning machines. Its primary customer segments include the automotive and supplier industry, aerospace, mechanical engineering, electronics, and hydraulic and fluid technology.

Founded in 1914 in Esslingen, Germany, the INDEX Group operates six production sites and around 80 locations worldwide through twelve international sales and service companies. The group is privately held and positions itself as a provider of customised manufacturing solutions combining machine technology, automation, application consulting, and after-sales service.
