iGo Mobility Secures ₹8.2 Cr Pre-Seed Funding to Advance Electric Trike Technology

iGoWise Mobility, an electric vehicle startup developing three-wheeled transportation solutions, has completed a ₹8.2 crore pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by ISB Angels, 888VC, and Guptaji VC.

The company, which operates under the brand name iGo, specializes in electric trikes designed for urban and rural Indian markets. Its flagship product, the BeiGo Rugged Utility Vehicle, is scheduled for market entry following a 32-month development cycle.

iGo's vehicle platform incorporates a patented anti-topple swiveling mechanism and self-balancing system. According to the company, these features enable the trikes to navigate uneven road surfaces and congested traffic conditions. The vehicles are equipped with triple-disc braking systems and utilize the company's proprietary TwiiGo platform.

The funding will support tooling and automation infrastructure, expand customer service networks, advance research and development efforts for new vehicle variants, and provide working capital for existing orders.

Founded in 2020, iGo has developed its technology through in-house research and development, holding 12 patents. The company reports building its supply chain entirely within India and has accumulated over 100,000 kilometers of real-world usage data.

The startup plans geographical expansion over the next 12 to 18 months, targeting Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Panjim. Initial deployment will involve 1,500 units through partnerships with fleet operators Hala Mobility and Elektric Express.

Sravan K Appana, Founder and CEO of iGo, stated that the company's approach emphasizes cost efficiency and reduced import dependence. The vehicles are positioned as alternatives to traditional two-wheelers and larger commercial vehicles.

Ravi Teja Guptaji, Founder of Guptaji VC, noted that the investment aligns with supporting locally-focused innovation. Guptaji VC has indicated plans for a potential $2 million seed round in 2026.

The electric vehicle segment in India has seen increased activity as infrastructure development and policy initiatives support adoption. iGo's three-wheeled design represents an approach to addressing transportation needs in markets where road conditions and space constraints present operational challenges.
