Hyundai Motor India Launches Prime Taxi Range for Commercial Mobility Segment
The automaker introduces Prime HB hatchback and Prime SD sedan models designed for fleet operators, featuring CNG compatibility, extended warranties, and competitive pricing starting at Rs 5.99 lakh.
Hyundai Motor India Limited has entered the commercial mobility market with the launch of two purpose-built taxi models, marking the company's first foray into the fleet and taxi operator segment.
The Prime range comprises the Prime HB hatchback and Prime SD sedan, both powered by a 1.2-liter Kappa four-cylinder engine available in petrol and CNG configurations. The vehicles are priced at Rs 5.99 lakh for the Prime HB and Rs 6.89 lakh for the Prime SD, with bookings now open at Hyundai dealerships nationwide for Rs 5,000.
Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO designate of Hyundai Motor India Limited, said the models are engineered to deliver maximum uptime, predictable maintenance, and low operating costs for commercial customers. The company aims to leverage its extensive service network to support fleet operators whose livelihoods depend on vehicle availability.
Both models feature safety equipment including six airbags, rear parking sensors, and a company-fitted speed limiting function capped at 80 km/h. Comfort features include rear AC vents, four power windows, driver seat height adjustment, and steering-mounted audio controls.
The vehicles offer fuel efficiency ratings of 28.40 km/kg for the Prime SD and 27.32 km/kg for the Prime HB in CNG mode, according to ARAI certification. Hyundai calculates the maintenance cost at 47 paise per kilometer based on recommended services up to 100,000 kilometers.
To support commercial buyers, Hyundai offers extended warranty packages covering the fourth and fifth years or up to 180,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. Flexible financing options extend repayment periods up to 72 months, subject to financier approval.
Optional accessories include a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear camera with three-year warranty, and a vehicle location tracking device with four panic buttons. The Prime range is available in three colors: Atlas White, Typhoon Silver, and Abyss Black.
Trained fleet care advisors will be available at Hyundai dealerships to serve taxi and fleet customers. The company positions the Prime range as a solution for first-time and expanding fleet operators seeking reliable vehicles with strong earning potential.
