Hyundai Motor India Introduces Assured Buyback Program for Creta Electric
The programme offers a 60% assured buyback value for up to three years or 45,000km, addressing resale value concerns among prospective EV buyers.
Hyundai Motor India has introduced an Assured Buyback Program for the Creta Electric, offering customers a 60% assured buyback value for up to three years or 45,000km, whichever comes first. The company said the initiative is aimed at addressing concerns around the future resale value of electric vehicles, which remains a key consideration for prospective buyers.
The buyback programme forms part of Hyundai's broader electric mobility strategy, which also includes its recently introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, an expanding charging network and future EV product plans. According to the company, these initiatives are intended to improve the overall ownership experience and lower barriers to EV adoption.
Why Hyundai's Buyback Program Matters for EV Buyers
"The next phase of electric vehicle adoption in India will be driven equally by advancements in vehicle technology and by greater customer confidence. Our Assured Buyback Program, offering 60% assured buyback value, reflects our confidence in the product's long-term value," said Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India.
The company said customer confidence is becoming increasingly important as India's EV market evolves, with ownership value joining driving range, charging infrastructure and connected technologies as key purchase considerations. Hyundai said the buyback programme has been designed to provide greater financial certainty throughout the ownership cycle.
Creta Electric Battery Options and Range
The Creta Electric is available with two battery pack options—a 51.4kWh unit with an ARAI-certified range of 510km and a 42kWh version offering a claimed range of 420km. Other features include DC fast charging capability, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, Digital Key and Level 2 ADAS.
Hyundai's Charging Network and Infrastructure Plans
Hyundai also said its charging ecosystem currently allows customers to access more than 30,000 charging points through the myHyundai app. The company has established 183 DC fast-charging stations across 105 cities and plans to expand this network to 600 stations by 2030.
