Hyundai Motor India Appoints Yogesh Wadhwa as SMP

Hyundai Motor India Limited has appointed Yogesh Wadhwa as General Counsel and Function Head – Legal & Corporate Governance effective September 5, 2026, as Amitabh Lal Das steps down as Business Head, Chief Legal Officer, with his last day being September 30, 2026.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced a change in its Senior Management Personnel (SMP). Amitabh Lal Das, Business Head, Chief Legal Officer, has resigned and will step down from the company, with his last working day set as September 30, 2026.

According to a resignation letter dated July 1, 2026, submitted to HMIL, Das requested to be relieved of his duties from the close of business hours on that date; the company noted the exit had been accepted by management. HMIL said Das made significant contributions during his tenure, including providing strategic legal guidance, strengthening the governance framework and supporting key business initiatives, and thanked him for his contribution and commitment to the company.

As part of the leadership transition, Yogesh Wadhwa, General Counsel and Function Head, Legal & Corporate Governance, will be appointed SMP of HMIL with effect from September 5, 2026. Wadhwa has 26 years of experience across legal, compliance, litigation, regulatory affairs and corporate governance.

During his tenure at HMIL, he has been associated with initiatives including IPO readiness, the Pune plant acquisition, and strengthening the company's enterprise-wide ethics and compliance frameworks. He has previously held roles at General Motors, Renault Nissan, Halliburton, PwC and Fox Mandal across India and the Middle East.
