Hyundai Motor India Announces Price Cuts Up to Rs 2.4 Lakh Following GST Rate Reduction

Hyundai Motor India Limited announced on September 7, 2025, that it will reduce prices across its vehicle lineup by up to Rs 2.4 lakh, passing the complete benefit of the recent GST rate reduction on passenger vehicles to customers. The price cuts will take effect from September 22, 2025, when the revised GST rates come into force.

The Korean automaker's decision covers its entire range of passenger vehicles sold in India, with price reductions varying across different models. The move aims to make Hyundai vehicles more accessible to customers during the festive season.

"We sincerely appreciate the progressive and far-sighted move by the Government of India to reduce GST on passenger vehicles," said Mr. Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India Limited. He described the reform as a boost to the automotive industry and a step toward making personal mobility more affordable and accessible.

The price reductions vary significantly across Hyundai's model range. The Tucson receives the highest reduction of Rs 2,40,303, while the Venue sees a cut of Rs 1,23,659. Other models include reductions of Rs 1,08,116 for the i20 N Line, Rs 98,053 for the i20, Rs 89,209 for the Exter, and Rs 78,465 for the Aura. The Verna receives the smallest reduction at Rs 60,640.

The GST rate reduction on passenger vehicles represents part of the Indian government's efforts to stimulate the automotive sector and make vehicle ownership more affordable for consumers. The automotive industry has been seeking such tax relief to boost domestic demand and support manufacturing growth in the country.

Hyundai Motor India Limited operates from its headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana, and has been a significant player in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The company's decision to pass on the complete tax benefit reflects the competitive nature of India's automotive market, where manufacturers often use government incentives to attract price-conscious consumers.
