Honda launches CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX motorcycles in Chennai

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) launched the CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX motorcycles in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on August 28, 2025, with the CB125 Hornet priced at Rs. 1,12,000 (special introductory offer) and the Shine 100 DX at Rs. 76,809, both ex-showroom Chennai.
The CB125 Hornet targets next-generation riders with what Honda describes as the spirit to 'Ride Your Rizz', featuring sporty styling and performance capabilities. The Shine 100 DX continues the Shine legacy with enhanced features and premium styling that Honda says stands true to 'Solid Hai'. Customers can book both motorcycles at Honda authorized dealerships.
CB125 Hornet Specifications and Features
The CB125 Hornet features street-style design elements and comes in four color options: Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue with Athletic Blue Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red. The motorcycle includes first-in-segment golden USD front forks, an all-LED lighting system, and a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth-enabled Honda RoadSync connectivity for navigation, calls and SMS alerts.
Additional equipment includes a Universal Type-C charging port and a 240mm petal disc brake at the front with single-channel ABS. The motorcycle is powered by a 123.94cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, OBD2B compliant engine producing 8.2 kW of power and 11.2 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Honda claims it can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 5.4 seconds, positioning it as the fastest motorcycle in its class.
Shine 100 DX Specifications and Features
The Shine 100 DX features refreshed design elements including a newly designed headlamp with chrome garnishing, sculpted wide fuel tank, body graphics, and all-black engine and grab rail with chrome muffler cover. It is available in four colors: Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Geny Gray Metallic.
The motorcycle includes a digital LCD instrument cluster displaying real-time mileage, distance-to-empty, and service due reminders. It is powered by a 98.98cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, OBD2B compliant engine with Honda's eSP (Enhanced Smart Power) technology, producing 5.43 kW of power and 8.04 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
