Himadri Speciality Chemical Commissions 70,000 MTPA Carbon Black Line
Making Mahistikry the world's largest facility of its kind, the brownfield expansion raises total speciality carbon black capacity at the Mahistikry site to 1,30,000 MTPA, surpassing all other single-location facilities globally.
Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd (HSCL) announced that it has commenced commercial operations of a newly commissioned 70,000 MTPA Speciality Carbon Black line at its manufacturing facility in Mahistikry, Hooghly, West Bengal, bringing the site's total speciality carbon black capacity to 1,30,000 MTPA and making it the world's largest single-location speciality carbon black manufacturing facility.
The brownfield expansion raises HSCL's overall carbon black manufacturing capacity to 2,50,000 MTPA. The new line is designed to serve high-value applications across plastics, inks, paints, coatings, and other specialised segments, and incorporates advanced process technologies, energy-efficient operations, and scalable infrastructure.

This milestone significantly enhances our production capabilities and positions us strongly to capture rising global demand in premium, application-specific segments such as plastics, inks, paints, coatings, and other specialized industries. According to the company, the additional capacity is expected to contribute to revenue growth and improve the company's margin profile over the medium term. HSCL exports to 56 countries and operates eight zero-liquid discharge manufacturing facilities, sourcing all of its electrical energy needs from in-house clean power.
