Hero MotoCorp reports strong export growth, dispatches 442,873 units in January

Hero MotoCorp delivered 442,873 units of motorcycles and scooters in January 2025, with domestic sales of 412,378 units and exports of 30,495 units. The company's global business recorded a 141% growth compared to January 2024, driven by demand in markets including Bangladesh and Colombia.
The company's electric vehicle brand VIDA dispatched 6,669 units of its new VIDA V2 electric scooter, which is priced starting at ₹96,000. This represents a 214% growth in the EV segment compared to the previous year.
In January 2025, Hero MotoCorp expanded its product portfolio with five new launches. The premium motorcycle segment saw the introduction of the Xtreme 250R and Xpulse 210, while the scooter lineup grew with the new Destini 125, Xoom 125, and Xoom 160 maxi scooter.
Motorcycle sales reached 400,293 units in January 2025, compared to 402,056 units in January 2024. Scooter sales increased to 42,580 units from 31,542 units in the same period last year.
The company's year-to-date figures for fiscal year 2025 show total sales of 4,961,515 units, with domestic sales at 4,744,376 units and exports at 217,139 units. This compares to total sales of 4,662,630 units in the same period of fiscal year 2024, which included 4,516,018 domestic units and 146,612 exports.
Hero MotoCorp, which has held the position of world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters since its separation from Honda in 2011, further strengthened its motorsports presence as Hero MotoSports Team Rally finished seventh in the Dakar Rally 2025, marking its second-best performance in nine years following a second-place finish in 2024.
The company noted that the Union Budget 2025 presentation indicates support for rural development and inclusive growth across India, factors that could influence the two-wheeler market's performance.
