India's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Tuesday launched its second electric scooter model under the Vida brand – the VX2 – and introduced a Battery-as-a-Service model to reduce the initial cost of the vehicle.
The VX2 is available in two variants — VX2 Plus and VX2 Go —with prices starting at ₹59,490 (ex-showroom) under a BaaS subscription model. Without the BaaS plan, the VX2 Go is priced at ₹99,490 and the VX2 Plus at ₹1.10 lakh.
The BaaS model is designed to lower upfront costs and operates on a pay-per-kilometre basis, starting at ₹0.96 per kilometre. It includes benefits such as complimentary battery replacement if performance drops below 70% and access to VIDA’s fast-charging network.
Both variants feature removable batteries. The VX2 Plus comes with a 3.4 kWh battery offering an IDC-tested range of up to 142 km, while the VX2 Go includes a 2.2 kWh battery with a range of up to 92 km. The scooters are supported by Hero MotoCorp’s service and charging infrastructure, which includes over 3,600 charging points and 500+ service centres nationwide.
In terms of design and comfort, the VX2 offers a long seat suitable for two riders and is available in seven colour options. The VX2 Go features a 4.3-inch LCD, while the VX2 Plus is equipped with a 4.3-inch TFT display. Both variants support turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone connectivity for accessing ride data and firmware updates.
The VX2 is also fitted with 12-inch wheels designed for better grip and handling. Charging is made flexible with three options, including standard plug point compatibility. Additionally, the VX2 Go variant offers 33.2 litres of boot space when the battery is removed, sufficient for a full-face helmet.
The company introduced the VX2 EVOOTER on the birth anniversary of Hero MotoCorp’s Founder Chairman, Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, reinforcing its focus on offering practical and sustainable mobility solutions across India.
