Hero MotoCorp Launches Three-Month Road Safety Campaign Across Five Cities

Hero MotoCorp has launched a three-month road safety campaign titled "Ride Safe India" to commemorate National Road Safety Month. The initiative spans five major cities and aims to shift road safety from a compliance requirement to an everyday social responsibility.

The campaign aligns with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' four pillars of road safety: Education, Engineering, Enforcement, and Emergency Care. Implementation will occur through on-ground interventions, community engagement, and technology-driven awareness programs in Delhi, Gurugram, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and Jaipur.

Hero MotoCorp's road safety efforts build upon a decade of initiatives that have reached 1.6 million people across India through awareness drives, rider training programs, and traffic park interventions.

"Road safety is a shared responsibility and needs to be driven through sustained multi-stakeholder efforts," said Vikram Kasbekar, Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer at Hero MotoCorp. "At Hero MotoCorp, safety is embedded in our purpose, our products, and our partnerships."

The campaign targets three key demographic groups through specialized programs. For students, the company will establish 10 Safe School Zones featuring speed-calming measures, road markings, and 200 signages at critical intersections. Digital Road Safety Pledges will be distributed to over one million participants through dual parent-child engagement. School-level awareness drives, drawing competitions, and workshops will reach 60 schools, with students receiving structured training through a partnership with the International Road Federation.

The "Surakshit Saathi" initiative focuses on gig worker safety, training and certifying over 1,000 delivery executives as first responders at Hero MotoCorp's Traffic Parks. The hybrid program includes emergency response modules, behavioral guidance, and distribution of safety gear, first-aid kits, and emergency protocol cards.

Broader community engagement includes deploying 250 mobile billboards, conducting awareness drives at 500 fuel stations, organizing a Republic Day road safety event, and facilitating digital pledge campaigns. These efforts aim to reach millions through multiple touchpoints.

On International Women's Day, Hero MotoCorp will host a Women's Bike Rally with 100 participants and recognize women traffic police officers for their contributions to road safety.

The campaign involves collaboration with Traffic Police, Regional Transport Authorities, and Educational Institutions, focusing on capacity building and behavioral changes to establish a long-term culture of road safety.

Hero MotoCorp, headquartered in New Delhi, has been the world's largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer for 25 consecutive years, with annual revenue of approximately $5 billion. The company operates in 52 countries with a customer base exceeding 125 million and runs eight manufacturing facilities across three countries.
