Hero MotoCorp July sales down 5%, says supply chain constraints, logistics disruptions hit dispatches

Hero MotoCorp today posted a 5% year-on-year decline in its wholes during July amid weakness in its domestic market dispatches. The company noted that supply chain constraints and logistics disruptions impacted dispatches.

The automaker dispatched a total of 3.70 lakh units in July, down from 3.91 lakh units in July 2023. Domestic sales fell 6.4% on year to 3.47 lakh units. Exports, however, improved 13% to 22,739 units.

“The company rationalized its domestic dispatches during July 2024, while it plans to increase its dispatches leading up to the festive season. It experienced supply-chain constraints and logistics disruptions that impacted dispatches during the month,” Hero MotoCorp said.

The automaker today also announced that it launched operations in the Philippines, marking a major milestone in its ongoing efforts to expand its global footprint. The company is currently active in 48 countries, with tech centers in India and Germany, and manufacturing facilities in India, Colombia, and Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India dispatched a total of 4.83 lakh two-wheelers and 4.39 lakh in the domestic market in July.
