After unveiling it at Hero World 2024, Hero has launched the Mavrick 440 in India with prices ranging between Rs 1.99 lakh-2.24 lakh.

The Hero Mavrick is powered by an air-/oil-cooled, 440cc, single-cylinder engine making 26hp at 6,000rpm and 36Nm at 4,000rpm. The company also claims that 90 percent of this torque will be available from 2,000rpm. Peak torque on the Mavrick is a little lower than the Harley-Davidson X440 upon which it is based. Just like the baby H-D, the Mavrick gets a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

The main frame itself is the same as the Harley X440 but the Mavrick uses a simpler 43mm telescopic fork up front. Ground clearance stands at 175mm and the Mavrick rolls on 17-inch wheels at both ends.

The bike will be available in three variants: base (Rs 1.99 lakh), mid (Rs 2.14 lakh) and top (Rs 2.24 lakh). The base variant is available in a single colour – white – and gets spoked wheels, the mid variant will get alloy wheels and two colours, while the top-spec variant will get Bluetooth connectivity and diamond-cut alloy wheels.

At its price, the Hero Mavrick will rival the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 (Rs 1.74 lakh-2.16 lakh), Classic 350 (Rs 1.93 lakh-2.25 lakh), Honda CB350 (Rs 2 lakh-2.18 lakh) and the newly launched Jawa 350 (Rs 2.15 lakh). Despite being the most expensive Hero motorcycle to date, the Mavrick 440 is still a whole lot more affrodable than the Harley-Davidson X440 (Rs 2.40 lakh-2.80 lakh).

Bookings are open for a token amount of Rs 5,000 and deliveries will begin on April 15. For all bookings before March 15, 2024 customers will get a kit of accessories and merchandise worth Rs 10,000, as per the manufacturer’s website.
