Gulf Oil and Nayara Energy forge partnership to expand nationwide distribution

Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with Nayara Energy to expand its automotive product offerings across India. Nayara Energy, the largest private fuel retailer in the country, operates an extensive network of over 6,500 fuel stations nationwide.

This collaboration aims to make Gulf’s range of automotive products, including lubricants for two-wheelers, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and agricultural vehicles, available across this network. The partnership is set under a three-year agreement designed to strengthen Gulf Oil’s presence in the Indian market, particularly along highways.

As part of the collaboration, Gulf Oil’s AdBlue—a diesel exhaust fluid that reduces emissions—will be the exclusive AdBlue product offered at Nayara’s fuel stations. Additionally, the partnership includes the availability of two-wheeler batteries. Gulf Oil, which already has an extensive distribution system for AdBlue, aims to further enhance its reach through this association. Both companies are focused on providing high-quality automotive products to consumers in urban and rural areas.

Gulf Oil, a global company with operations in over 100 countries, operates manufacturing and research facilities in Silvassa and Chennai. These facilities have a combined production capacity of 332,000 kiloliters for lubricants and AdBlue. Gulf’s products are available at over 80,000 touchpoints and through more than 10,000 Gulf Bike Stops and Car Stops in India. The brand also collaborates with more than 40 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Ravi Chawla, Managing Director and CEO of Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd., highlighted the importance of the partnership, noting that it represents an opportunity to expand Gulf’s reach across the country’s highways and fuel stations. He emphasized the company’s focus on delivering reliable automotive solutions to a broad range of customers. Chawla added that the collaboration with Nayara Energy leverages its extensive retail network to make Gulf’s products more accessible.

Madhur Taneja, Chief Marketing Officer of Nayara Energy, stated that this partnership aligns with the company’s goal of enhancing its range of automotive offerings to provide a better service experience for customers. Taneja mentioned that Nayara’s Quick Lube Change Bays at select outlets enable lube changes in under five minutes, offered as a complimentary service to motorists. He noted that the collaboration with Gulf Oil is expected to strengthen the availability of quality automotive products, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 markets and along prominent highways.

India’s highway infrastructure has been growing rapidly, supported by initiatives like the Golden Quadrilateral Project. This has contributed to an increase in commercial vehicles and two-wheelers, creating significant opportunities for automotive and fuel retail. Nayara Energy’s extensive network positions it as a key player in this evolving landscape, with more than 91,000 fuel retail stations across the country.

The partnership also includes joint marketing activities at Nayara Energy’s outlets to promote the product range. Both companies aim to address consumer needs by providing accessible, high-quality automotive solutions. The collaboration reflects Gulf’s strategy to deepen its market penetration in India and aligns with Nayara’s focus on enhancing customer service.
