GreenCell Mobility appoints Devndra Chawla as new CEO

Chawla, in his new role, will work both with government agencies and the business-to-consumer retail travel market.

Devndra Chawla, former MD and CEO of Spencer's Retail and Nature's Basket, has been appointed as the new CEO of Everstone-backed GreenCell Mobility.

In his role at GreenCell, Chawla will work both with government agencies and the business-to-consumer retail travel market where GreenCell has introduced electric buses in inter-city market space.

GreenCell which is preparing to accelerate in green surface transport will benefit from Chawla's previous experience of working with Walmart India as EVP and COO and as CEO of Future Consumer Limited (FCL). 

Dhanpal Jhaveri, Vice Chairman, Everstone Group and CEO - of Eversource Capital, commenting on the appointment said, “We are excited to welcome Devndra to the GreenCell team, having successfully led many customer-centric businesses to grow GreenCell into India’s leading green surface transport company.”  

On his appointment, Chawla, said, “I feel privileged to scale the company’s growth to the next phase knowing that  GreenCell has made rapid strides in e-mobility in India.”

Chawla who holds an MBA degree from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School via its Advance Management Program.
