Green Drive Mobility and furniture rental platform Furlenco have expanded their commercial logistics partnership to transition a portion of the rental company's delivery fleet from conventional internal combustion engines to battery electric vehicles. Initially launched as a localized pilot program in Bengaluru, the fleet electrification project has been deployed in Delhi and has commenced initial operations in Hyderabad. The current operational framework establishes a phased roadmap to transition nearly 150 internal combustion vehicles into dedicated electric utility platforms to manage regional product distribution and reverse logistics.
Under the terms of the agreement, Green Drive Mobility functions as the end-to-end electric vehicle fleet operator for the deployment. The specialized fleet firm is responsible for vehicle procurement, driver onboarding, fleet utilization analytics, maintenance support, and city-level administrative execution. The expansion comes as rapid urbanization and tightening emission norms across major Indian Tier 1 cities are prompting e-commerce and rental enterprises to secure predictable transport costs through contracted electric fleet operators.
Ala Harikrishna, Founder of Green Drive Mobility, stated that the expanded deployment demonstrates that electric mobility can support demanding commercial logistics schedules across diverse metropolitan markets. Ajay Agarwal, Chief Operating Officer of Furlenco, stated that as the company scales its national footprint, the objective is to build an efficient, scalable distribution network that aligns with corporate sustainability goals without compromising on daily fulfillment timelines or client service standards.
