Force Motors Launches New Urbania Deluxe, Its Premium Shared-Mobility Flagship

Force Motors Limited, described as India's largest van maker, on Wednesday launched the new Urbania Deluxe, a premium variant of its shared-mobility platform aimed at delivering a more refined travel experience. The model will replace the current-generation Urbania and become the company's standard offering in the premium shared mobility segment.

The original Urbania, launched as India's first fully ground-up modular monocoque van platform, established a new category in the domestic premium shared passenger mobility market and has since expanded its footprint in international markets. The Deluxe variant builds on that base with a range of upgrades aimed at passenger comfort, performance and technology.

More Power With a Mercedes-Derived Engine

The new Urbania Deluxe is powered by a Mercedes-derived 2.6-litre, four-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing 100 kW (134 HP) and 350 Nm of torque, an upgrade intended to improve pickup and overall drivability. The cabin has also been redesigned with a new premium interior theme featuring leatherette seats, matching upholstery and wood-finish flooring.

Redesigned Cabin and Safety Upgrades

Safety upgrades include car-like three-point seat belts for every passenger, along with driver and co-driver airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Engine Drag Torque Control (ETDC).

Infotainment, Connectivity and After-Sales

The vehicle includes a TFT instrument cluster for real-time vehicle information, and a 23 cm (9-inch) HD touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, online and offline navigation, an HD reverse camera, voice alerts and hands-free Bluetooth calling. Additional features include new 16-inch alloy wheels, a power-operated sliding footstep for easier boarding, an 8-speaker Digital Theatre System (DTS), and illuminated USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports across all seating rows.

The Urbania Deluxe is also backed by Force Care, a package that includes the company's i-Pulse telematics solution, a 5-year/5 lakh km warranty, a 3-year warranty on sensors, and 3 years of Roadside Assistance.

Variants, Pricing and Availability

The new Urbania Deluxe will be offered in three wheelbases and eight seating layouts, ranging from 9+D to 16+D configurations, through Force Motors' dealer network across India. Prices start at ₹28.7 lakh (ex-showroom).

Founded in 1958 by N. K. Firodia, Force Motors is a fully integrated automobile manufacturer that operates five manufacturing units in India and employs more than 10,000 people. The company is chaired by Abhay Firodia and runs an R&D centre in Pune. Its product range spans light commercial vehicles and multi-utility vehicles, with exports to more than 25 countries.
