Escorts Kubota Launches Powertrac Shaurya, a Tractor Series for Southern India's Paddy Sector

Escorts Kubota Limited launched the Powertrac Shaurya tractor series on Tuesday, marking the first time the company has introduced a dedicated paddy and wetland-focused range under its Powertrac brand. The series, comprising five variants across the 39 HP to 52 HP range, is targeted at paddy-growing regions including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The company said the tractors will be available through authorised Powertrac dealerships in Southern India.

Escorts Kubota operates three tractor brands in India — Kubota, Farmtrac and Powertrac — serving the premium, entry-premium and value segments, respectively. The Shaurya series sits within the Powertrac portfolio, which caters to the company's value and mass market customers.

The tractors have been engineered for operation in waterlogged and wetland field conditions. Key features include cassette-type sealing across major components to prevent water and mud ingress, a turning radius of 3.1 metres for use in small and medium-sized fields, and a fully constant mesh gearbox with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears.

The series offers Sensi-1 hydraulic lift with a capacity range of 1,600 to 2,000 kg, depending on the variant. An independent PTO lever with double clutch supports implement control, and dual PTO options — 540/1000 rpm and reverse PTO — are available for a range of paddy applications. A perforated elevated platform, protected wiring harness routing inside the fender channel, and an adjustable slider seat with anti-slip pads are also included.

Nikhil Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director, said the launch aligned with the company's objective of deepening its presence in paddy markets through application-specific products. Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director, noted that product development for the series began with field conditions rather than standard platforms. Bharat Madan, Whole-time Director and CFO, said the product would improve the regional composition of the company's tractor portfolio.

Escorts Kubota, which has been in operation for over 80 years, manufactures agricultural and construction equipment and distributes its products through dealer networks across India and internationally.
