Escorts Kubota has introduced the Kubota MU4502 and MU5002 tractors in India. The MU4502 produces 45 horsepower, while the MU5002 produces 50hp. The company has positioned both models in the 41-50hp category of the Indian tractor market.

Both tractors come with what Escorts Kubota describes as an industry-first eight-year transferable warranty. The warranty remains with the tractor if ownership changes, according to the company.

Escorts Kubota MU4502 and MU5002 specifications and features

The MU4502 and MU5002 are powered by Kubota’s KQP4 Japanese engine and use a 12F + 4R Multi-Speed Synchromesh gearbox. The tractors also feature Pompa Lift with Dual Stabilizer Spring (DSS) technology, which is designed to maintain implement stability and working depth on uneven terrain.

Both models feature full LED lighting, a covered flat-deck platform, bucket seat, suspended pedals, double-acting power steering and ergonomically positioned controls. A balancer shaft is also used to reduce vibration.

The tractors are compatible with primary and secondary tillage and farming implements, including super seeders, seed drills, potato planters, mini round balers and cultivators. They are intended for crops including paddy, wheat, maize, pulses and soyabean, while also supporting haulage and commercial applications.

A reverse power take-off (PTO) is available for applications such as rotavators and straw reapers. Escorts Kubota says the models are suitable for landholdings of five acres and above and will be offered across India.

MU4502 and MU5002 positioned in Kubota’s premium tractor range

Escorts Kubota operates Farmtrac, Powertrac and Kubota tractor brands in India, spanning entry-premium, value and premium segments respectively. The MU4502 and MU5002 sit within the Kubota premium range.

With the addition of the two models, the MU range now comprises the MU4201, MU4501, MU4502, MU5002 and MU5502.

Nikhil Nanda, chairman and managing director, Escorts Kubota, said the new tractors were aimed at progressive farmers, existing tractor owners looking to upgrade, contract farming operators and custom hiring businesses.

“The 41–50 HP category is one of the largest and most important segments in the Indian tractor market,” Nanda said.

8-year transferable warranty offered on new tractors

Escorts Kubota has introduced an eight-year transferable warranty with the MU4502 and MU5002. According to Rajan Chugh, chief officer, Tractor Division, the warranty remains with the tractor when ownership changes.

Chugh also described the MU4502 and MU5002 as 4WD tractors and said the warranty is intended to support the resale value of the vehicles.

The company said the new models are intended to address multi-application requirements across farming and haulage operations, with the warranty forming part of its ownership proposition for the two tractors.
