The company has also expanded its commercial EV portfolio to include the medium- and heavy-commercial vehicle (M&HCV) truck segment, alongside its existing bus and SCV operations.

EKA Mobility founder and chairman Dr Sudhir Mehta attributed the increase to the company's expansion in manufacturing, engineering and product capacity. He said the company plans to continue adding production capacity and developing its engineering capabilities as it expands its electric commercial vehicle operations.

EKA Mobility currently operates two manufacturing plants in Pune, while a new manufacturing hub is under development in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The company said the upcoming facility will increase its production capacity.

Its workforce currently exceeds 3,000 employees, including more than 500 designers and engineers working across vehicle design and engineering, powertrain, battery systems, electronics and software.

The company describes this as a dedicated electric commercial vehicle R&D setup, with capabilities covering multiple vehicle and technology areas.

EKA Mobility is a Champion OEM under the Automotive Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme and has obtained PLI certification across its product platforms, according to the company.
