EKA Mobility Deploys 10 Electric Garbage Tippers in Goa
The vehicles, launched in collaboration with the Sankhali Municipal Council, aim to improve waste collection efficiency and sustainability.
EKA Mobility handed over 10 electric garbage tippers to the Sankhali Municipal Council (SMC) in Goa. The deployment, inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, is part of the state’s initiative to enhance sustainable urban waste management.
The garbage tippers have a top speed of 80 km/h and a range of up to 180 km per charge, making them suitable for daily municipal operations. Powered by a 32 kWh lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) battery, the vehicles require approximately 6–8 hours for a full charge and can carry up to 1,000 kg of waste.
Rohit Srivastava, Business Head & Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility, highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability into everyday urban services. “At EKA we believe sustainability begins at the street level — in the everyday services that define our cities. This deployment with SMC is a model for how municipalities can embrace innovation to serve both people and the planet,” he said.
SMC representatives emphasized the benefits of the collaboration. “This partnership with EKA Mobility marks a pivotal moment in Sankhali’s journey towards cleaner, greener governance. These electric tippers will enhance the efficiency of waste collection and reflect our commitment to responsible and progressive urban development,” said Chairperson Siddhi S Prabhu Porob and former Chairperson Rashmi Dilip Desai.
EKA Mobility specializes in electric vehicle technology and works with international partners, including Mitsui Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands). The company aims to develop low-cost electric mobility solutions and improve sustainability in urban transport systems.
