Eicher Trucks, Cityflo Partner To Deploy 2,000 Buses For Urban Mobility Expansion
Eicher Trucks and Buses and Cityflo plan to deploy 2,000 premium intra-city buses over three years, focusing on commuter comfort, operational reliability and cleaner mobility solutions.
Eicher Trucks and Buses, the commercial vehicle business of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has signed a memorandum of understanding with urban mobility company Cityflo to expand premium intra-city bus operations across India through the deployment of 2,000 buses over the next three years.
The agreement builds on an existing partnership between the two companies and is expected to support Cityflo’s expansion across key urban markets. Around 500 buses are planned for deployment during FY27 as part of the overall procurement roadmap.
Under the partnership, Eicher Trucks and Buses will provide a multi-fuel portfolio designed for city operations, including diesel, CNG and electric bus platforms. The planned procurement includes the Eicher Skyline Pro 3011 AC Pushback equipped with rear air suspension, aimed at premium daily commute applications.
The companies said the collaboration will focus on operational reliability, higher vehicle uptime and lower total cost of ownership for fleet operators, while also improving commuter comfort. Areas of development include enhanced air-conditioning performance, reduced noise and vibration levels, improved ride quality and seating layouts configured for urban routes.
B Srinivas, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of VECV, said the partnership aligns with broader efforts to encourage public transport usage and reduce urban congestion, adding that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment towards “reliable, comfortable and efficient mobility solutions at scale”.
Cityflo Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer Rishabh Shah said the companies had earlier worked together to develop a 27-seater bus platform suited for urban commuting requirements and would continue collaborating on future vehicle configurations as operations scale up.
The agreement also includes service integration measures such as on-site support, maintenance planning aligned with peak-hour operations and a wider parts and service ecosystem. The companies said these measures are intended to improve fleet reliability and support Cityflo’s high-frequency operations model.
