Eicher Trucks & Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has launched Uptime NXT Services, integrating artificial intelligence (AI), connected vehicle data and digital service tools to support fleet productivity and commercial vehicle uptime.

The new service ecosystem is centred on an AI-enabled Uptime Centre that brings together customers, technicians, engineers and technical experts to coordinate service interventions. The offering includes fuel advisory, driver scorecards, vehicle-operation insights, vehicle immobiliser support and proactive interventions intended to improve fuel efficiency and reduce operating costs.

The launch builds on Eicher's centralised Uptime Centre, introduced in 2019. The company has since expanded its capabilities across vehicle health monitoring, diagnostics, service operations, parts availability and product performance.

AI-Enabled Uptime Centre Adds Real-Time Service Monitoring

The new Uptime Centre incorporates an Uptime Control Tower to monitor service delivery and provide visibility across vehicle and service operations. Eicher is also introducing Service One, a generative AI-powered platform designed to support mechanics and technicians, assist diagnosis and improve workshop operations.

According to VECV, these tools are intended to improve coordination between service teams, accelerate diagnosis and increase the likelihood of first-time-right repairs, reducing repeat interventions and vehicle downtime.

B Srinivas, managing director and CEO of VECV, said the initiative focuses on a more proactive approach to vehicle uptime by combining connected technology, predictive insights, service network responsiveness and aftermarket support.

My Eicher App Connects More Than 460,000 Vehicles

Eicher's connected customer platform, the My Eicher app, forms another part of its uptime services ecosystem. The app brings together live vehicle tracking, fuel management, trip management, fleet performance, predictive uptime, driver safety and service support.

According to the company, the platform supports more than 200,000 customers and connects over 460,000 vehicles.

S S Gill, chief commercial officer at VECV, said the Uptime Control Tower provides service teams with greater visibility into vehicle operations, while the generative AI-powered platform brings actionable information closer to technicians. The company expects these capabilities to support faster diagnosis, improved service coordination and better first-time-right repair performance.

VECV is a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors. Its businesses include Eicher-branded trucks and buses, Volvo Buses in India, the distribution of Volvo Trucks in India, engine manufacturing, engineering components and Eicher Power Solutions.
