Eicher Showcases Electric Intercity Bus, Maxi Cab at PRAWAAS 5.0
The company displayed the Skyline Pro E electric intercity bus and Starline 2050 E Maxi Cab, targeting intercity transport and regional tourism applications at PRAWAAS 5.0.
Eicher Trucks & Buses has showcased two passenger mobility products at PRAWAAS 5.0 in Gandhinagar—the Skyline Pro E 12-metre Intercity Electric Bus and the Starline 2050 E Maxi Cab—expanding its offerings for intercity transport and regional tourism. The company said the vehicles are designed to address operator requirements for lower operating costs, higher uptime and improved passenger comfort.
The Skyline Pro E is built on Eicher's electric platform and is aimed at intercity passenger operations. It offers seating for 44 passengers, along with a driver and co-driver, and is equipped with connected vehicle technology through the My Eicher platform. The bus also features more than 5 cubic metres of luggage capacity, dual-port fast charging with water-ingress protection, a 360-degree camera system, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes and an air-suspended driver's seat. Passenger amenities include USB charging ports, ambient lighting, foldable trays and two 24-inch LED televisions.
"India's bus industry is entering a new phase of transformation, with operators seeking mobility solutions that combine operational efficiency, profitability, sustainability and enhanced passenger experiences," said S S Gill, Chief Commercial Officer, VE Commercial Vehicles.
The Starline 2050 E Maxi Cab targets regional tourism and group travel applications. Powered by a four-cylinder engine, the vehicle is offered in an 11+1+driver seating configuration and features push-back seats, three-point seat belts, disc brakes, a collapsible steering column and an anti-roll bar on the rear axle. It is also integrated with the My Eicher connected vehicle platform to support fleet monitoring and operational management.
The company said the products are intended to support operators across intercity, tourism and regional transport applications, while addressing changing passenger expectations and operational efficiency requirements. Eicher's passenger vehicle portfolio spans school, staff, city, intercity and tourism segments.
