Citroen plans to introduce an A-segment car, a C-segment SUV and a D-segment MPV under Stellantis’ Fastlane 2030 programme, widening its Indian portfolio as it seeks to build domestic volumes.

The three products feature in Stellantis’ Brand House 2030 roadmap alongside the C3, eC3, Aircross and Basalt. Their names, powertrains and individual launch schedules have not been disclosed. Stellantis enters next phase of…

The A-segment car would give Citroen a smaller offering, while the C-SUV and D-segment MPV would extend its coverage into larger vehicle categories. The company has not specified whether these products will be manufactured locally, assembled from kits or imported.

The additions form part of approximately Rs 4,000 crore in fresh Stellantis investment in India, supporting seven new products and five refreshes across Citroen and Jeep by 2030.

The first launch under the combined programme is scheduled for Q2 2027, although the model has not been identified.

For Citroen, the expansion will be accompanied by changes to sales and service operations. Despite a range covering hatchbacks, electric vehicles and SUVs, the brand has yet to establish significant domestic volumes.

Shailesh Hazela, managing director and CEO of Stellantis India said that the investment would extend beyond products and localisation, to improving the customer experience.

“We are doing local marketing, dealer marketing, and we are using dealer as our brand loyalist so that customers are connecting with them,” Hazela said in an interview.

Asked whether Citroen’s early products had placed too much emphasis on cost cutting at the expense of features buyers expected, Hazela acknowledged the lessons from that approach. “We learned, we improved and we are back,” he said.

Citroen will also lead Stellantis’ further development of CNG offerings in India. Hazela said work on the technology would take account of tighter fuel-efficiency requirements, without identifying the next model to receive it.

On electric vehicles, the eC3 remains the immediate focus. Asked about the possibility of an electric Aircross, Hazela did not confirm such a programme. “We would be focusing on EC3 when it comes to Citroën,” he said.

Stellantis’ broader powertrain strategy includes combustion engines, hybrids, EVs and CNG, all these technology choices remain relevant for Citroen’s three planned additions.
