Citroën India Launches New C3X, Starting at ₹5.25 Lakh

Citroën India has launched the updated C3X, introducing a range of new features aimed at enhancing comfort, technology, and safety in its compact SUV segment offering. The refreshed C3 lineup now begins at an introductory price of ₹5.25 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as one of the most accessible vehicles in its category.

The New C3X includes 15 new features, with highlights such as Proxi-Sense™ Passive Entry and Push-Start System (PEPS), which allows for automatic unlocking and locking based on key proximity, eliminating the need to press a button on the key fob. The vehicle also introduces Cruise Control with Speed Limiter—an industry-first in its segment—available on automatic variants, aimed at improving highway driving comfort.

Additional technological upgrades include the HALO 360° camera system with seven viewing modes, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM), full LED lighting setup with projector headlamps and fog lamps, and a 10.25-inch Citroën Connect Touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. A rear USB Type-C port has been added for improved passenger convenience.

The cabin features a metropolitan leatherette-wrapped instrument panel in higher trims, along with a tropicalized automatic air conditioning system designed to perform efficiently in high-temperature conditions. With a 2,540 mm wheelbase, the vehicle offers 1,378 mm of rear shoulder room and 991 mm of front headroom, contributing to a spacious interior. The boot capacity stands at 315 litres.

Safety features across the range include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), engine immobilizer, speed-sensitive auto door locks, high-speed alert, and a perimetric alarm system. The HALO 360° camera is optional on C3X Shine trims at an additional cost of ₹25,000.

Underpinning the vehicle is Citroën’s Advanced Comfort suspension system, engineered for Indian road conditions and designed to deliver a smooth ride quality. The C3 is available with two engine options: a 1.2L PureTech 82 naturally aspirated engine and a 1.2L PureTech 110 turbocharged direct-injection engine. The turbo variant is paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, while the naturally aspirated engine comes with a 5-speed manual. The ARAI-certified fuel efficiency is rated at 19.3 km/l, with the turbo model capable of accelerating from 0–100 km/h in under 10 seconds.

The vehicle retains its SUV-inspired design, featuring a 180 mm ground clearance and a compact 4.98-meter turning radius, making it suitable for both urban and highway driving. Exterior color options include five monotone finishes—Polar White, Steel Grey, Cosmo Blue, Perla Nera Black, and Garnet Red—and two dual-tone combinations: Cosmo Blue with a white roof and Garnet Red with a black roof.

Interior options are available in three variants: C3 Live (Injected Grey), C3 Feel (Anodized Grey), and C3X Shine (Metropolitan leatherette-wrapped IP).

The updated C3 range is now open for bookings through Citroën’s dealership network across India. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first week of September 2025, with vehicle displays available from mid-August. CNG kit fitment is offered as an aftermarket option at an additional cost of ₹93,000.
