Citroën Basalt secures 4-Star rating in Bharat NCAP safety tests

Citroën Basalt has received a 4-star rating in the Bharat NCAP safety tests, reflecting Citroën India's focus on passenger safety. The Basalt scored 26.19 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 35.90 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP). It is equipped with safety features including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and ISOFIX, with a 3-point seat belt available for all seats across variants.

The Basalt includes over 40 active and passive safety features, utilizing a body structure made from high-strength steel, Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS). These materials contribute to its ability to manage impact forces effectively. The SUV is also the first in its segment to score full points in Side Crash Protection (Adult Occupant Protection).

Citroën has extended safety features, such as six airbags, ESC, and ISOFIX, to other models including the C3 and Aircross.

Since its launch, the vehicle has gained attention for its design and safety features. According to Shishir Mishra, Brand Director of Citroën India, the 4-star rating demonstrates the company’s focus on safety in their design approach. He expressed confidence that this recognition would strengthen the Basalt's position in the market.

The Bharat NCAP testing process involved several crash tests, with the Basalt performing well across various safety measures. The inclusion of safety features like six airbags, ESP, Hill Hold Control, 3-point seat belts with reminders for all seats, and ISOFIX child seat anchors aims to enhance the overall security of passengers.

With these results, the Citroën Basalt aims to set a benchmark in safety standards in India’s automotive sector. Citroën India continues to prioritize safety in its vehicle designs, offering customers a secure driving experience.
