Chalo launches BEST Airport Express in Mumbai

Chalo officially launched the BEST Chalo Airport Express, a premium and fully digitised bus service catering to air travellers in Mumbai. With the aim to address the challenges faced by travellers during airport travel, the service aims to revolutionise public mobility in the city.

The Airport Express service boasts a fleet of 42 buses, connecting both the International and Domestic airports to various parts of Mumbai, including Colaba in the south, Borivali in the north, Thane in the northeastern suburbs, and Kharghar in Navi Mumbai.

Comfort and convenience are central to the Airport Express service, which aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the city. After successful public trials and feedback, the service is officially launched on four routes.

Fleet and Frequency

The Airport Express operates 230 trips daily to and from the airport, with plans to expand the fleet further.

Currently, 50% of the buses are electric, with the aim to transition to 100% electric buses by March 2024, promoting sustainable mobility.

Operating every day from Monday to Sunday, the buses run at approximately 30-minute intervals in both directions, starting from 6:30 AM and concluding at 11:00 PM.

Booking

Passengers can book their tickets at Airport Express counters located outside both airport terminals.

Confirmed seats can also be booked via the BEST Chalo App or the web portal chalo.com/airport-express.

Faster Travel

The Airport Express prioritises faster travel by only stopping on the way if a passenger has made a reservation, reducing unnecessary stops and ensuring swift connections.

Mohit Dubey, CEO of Chalo, emphasised the transformative nature of the service, focusing on efficiency and positive ecological impact. The Airport Express service is aims to transform Mumbai's airport commute, offering swift connections between the airport and key city spots while promoting sustainability and enhancing traveller experience.
