CEAT Halol Plant Secures Five-Star Rating in British Safety Council Audit

CEAT Limited has received a five-star grading in the British Safety Council’s Occupational Health and Safety Audit for its Halol plant.

The audit assessed the company’s health and safety systems through documentation review, stakeholder interviews, and operational sampling. Performance was measured against more than 50 indicators of health and safety management practices.

This is the second time the Halol facility has achieved the five-star rating, the first being in 2016. With this recognition, four CEAT plants-- Halol, Nagpur, Chennai, and Ambernath-- now hold similar accolades from the British Safety Council.

The five-star grading also makes CEAT eligible to apply for the British Safety Council’s Sword of Honour Awards, which recognise excellence in occupational health and safety management.

The Halol plant, located in Gujarat, is one of CEAT Limited’s key manufacturing facilities and a hub for the company’s focus on safety and operational excellence. Commissioned as part of CEAT’s expansion strategy, the plant produces tyres for multiple vehicle categories, including passenger cars, utility vehicles, and two-wheelers.

Founded in 1924 and headquartered in Mumbai, CEAT is part of the RPG Group and manufactures more than 48 million tyres annually for two- and three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and off-highway vehicles.
